Early Valentine treats :)

Well, I just want to call all of them early valentine treats, even if only one could be considered as such hehe!

First, I won the Goldilocks promo on The Morning Rush last Tuesday! Ang funny ni Delle, she said (off air) that my name sounds like a bold star daw. Anyways, ah, the power of positive thinking! The night before, I told my mom about the promo and of course she made suporta agad haha! Thanks to Blue Ritz for giving me a copy of my air time.

Second, on the same day, a fellow RX listener, Swit Joe, brought me some carbonara!

Third, last night, I had dinner with some Rusher friends, namely Mr. Perk, Dru, Mojacko, Caramello, Czarovic, and Kalai Roswell. We had fun at SpaghettI Factory and Gelatissimo

Finally, kanina lang, Swit Joe brought me some pasta again! This time, he included some garlic bread and buko pandan salad. He also brought some for Czarovic

With friends such as them, who says being single sucks?

Astroboy Awards – Award #9

Last na ito for this day hehe! Yes naman, first time ko nagawa ito – three awards in one day! Ayos! So most likely matagal na ulit before I award someone next LOL )

The ninth award – the Buchi Kick Award – goes to:

Jobert a.k.a. Czarovic!

The picture above is our first picture together, taken during the July Rushers’ EB. But I actually met Jobert earlier than that – ’twas during the Hannah Montana MMP (tama ba?! memory gap lol). But even before that MMP, we were already exchanging messages on Facebook. I really thought he was a model! Lol! ) Until now, actually. Ang tangkad kasi and good-looking yehes! Iyak na yan! Ang funny niya, hindi pa niya nababasa ito (actually hindi ko pa nagagawa) pero naiiyak na siya! Assuming! ) Anyways, syempre, like Stephen and Benjai, I am honored to have him as my Buchi Kick (courtesy of Oscar dela HopiaManiPopcorn). I am looking forward to him being our tour guide sa Pangasinan hehe!

The eight award – the High Kick Award – goes to:

Stephen a.k.a Modern Lost Soul!

The picture above is fairly recent – it was taken during the 20-minute sneak peek of Avatar. Siguro gasgas na ito, pero when I first met Stephen, I was like, “Patay tayo dito…tahimik at mukhang mahirap kausapin…” HAHA! Boy, I was sooo wrong! Jusme, pag humirit ito, matatawa ka talaga! Lalo pag seryoso yung pagkakasabi niya, yung parang casual lang, shet panalo talaga! Ang sweet, sweet pa niya, he finds time to text me (or I think even the other Rushers) in the morning, at lunch time and during uwian. Like Benjai, I am also honored to have him as one of my Kicks. Watch out, enemies! Magaling mag-high kick ito hehe!

The seventh award – the Side Kick Award - goes to:

Benjai Bonita!

The picture above is our first picture together (parang magkamukha kami haha), taken during the May Rushers’ EB, if I’m not mistaken. When I first saw her, super na-cute-an na ako sa kanya. Tapos kala ko tahimik…yun pala super hyper din! She looks young for her real age, isip bata pati! She is very endearing, kaya nga siya ang kaisa-isang flower ng Spice Boys Over Flower (SBOF)! I do not recall the exact day na naging side kick ko siya, pero I am very honored to have her as such. She has a great smile and a cute laugh that can brighten anyone’s day =)

Astroboy Awards – Award #6

Wassup! Finally, I get to award another person! I’ve been busy lately at work, 3 weeks yata yun back-to-back-to-back na 150+ essays ang ni-ch-check ko. Oh well.

Actually I already wrote about the recipient of this award in an earlier blog entry.

And sino nga ba yun? Haha.

The sixth award – the Hyper Kambal Award – goes to:

Richard a.k.a. KUTIK!

Not much of a surprise there no? Hahahaha. Here’s a part of what I wrote about him in an earlier blog entry:

…we have learned a lot about each other na and super parang ang gaan-gaan ng loob namin sa isa’t isa (yehes cheesy!) And then we have a lot in common!!! We’re both hyper, makulet, madaldal, book lovers, RX listeners and MATAKAW!!! nyahahaha! ) So tada! We became the HYPER KAMBALS! -You can read the entire entry HERE.

We finally got to meet each other during the Rushers’ July EB (the pic above is our first pic together!), and boy, we truly have a lot of things in common! He is very passionate about a lot of things, especially good food! Haha! Thanks to him, I was able to defeat my latest case of acute otitis externa in less than a week! Hehehe! ^^

Sorry naman, ang tagal na pala nung last Award (Jollybug). Nawindang ang inyong android sa recent developments sa kanyang….life. Nyahaha =p

So the fifth award – the Keso Buddy Award – goes to:

Andre a.k.a. Boy Tikoy!

Yep, he’s the Radio One guy who’s from ESA and who’s the co-headmaster of The Show (Sundays, 12am-4am). I first met him during the Twilight MMP in November 2008. ^Yan ang first picture namin together (na mahal ang bayad hahahaha).

Andre deserves this award because he is the most makeso guy I have ever met! As in! He’s one of the very few guys I know (mga…3 lang yata sila) who’s into extra cheesy romantic movies!!!! And he has this really makeso yet insightful blog, check it out guys: http://aahndre.wordpress.com/ (o yan ha promote! haha) One of his blog entries there was inspired by the makeso talk we had off-air last June 10. Di ko talaga akalaing ganun siya ka-cheesy! He wanted to have more keso talk pa sana kaso I had to prepare for work. Anyways, Andre’s kesoness is definitely one of the best things (madami pang best things yan – yes build up haha) that endears him to me (naks may ganun haha pero I’m sure a lot of his friends will agree with me). Madalas, when we chat on YM/Live Messenger, naku, asahan mong puro kakesohan yun! =)

Astroboy Awards – Award #4

Wow, #4. I like this number hehe. Reminds me of someone I greatly admire (no, he isn’t the recipient of this award lol). On to the Award!

The fourth award – the Music Advocate Award – goes to:

Jolly!

Okay so this is the first time that I had to award a recipient before I write the accompanying blog. Sorry naman, I had to wait for a picture of us together hahaha!

So who’s Jolly? Lol. Are you familiar with Five and Up? Jolly was part of that show! Hehe! Naks, celebrity kid. Lol ) So anyways, Jolly deserves this award for making a lot of people aware of good music, through this awesome SITE. Sipag di ba? He updates that on a very regular basis, which I find well, admirable. Hehe. Pero aside from being a music advocate, I think Jolly is an advocate of anything worth share-able, plus he’s really innovative and an idea generator hehe. You guys should tune in to Jumpstart on RX 93.1 every Saturday from 2pm to 4pm and listen to how intellectual he sounds. (Hindi lang sounds, intellectual talaga yan! ) If I’m not mistaken, he was the one who came up with Pimp-out Saturdays Everything about Jolly makes him worthy of making it to my list of recipients and…THE list. hahaha! )

Astroboy Awards – Award #3*

Yey, suddenly, our net connection’s okay! So I’ll grab this opportunity to award another person who has made a dent haha dent eh no! impact pala in my life )

So the the third award – the Sobrang Cheesy Award – goes to:

PAM! (a.k.a SPAMMUTS B!)

Okay so she does not endorse a particular brand of pizza, but she is a very cheesy person. Wacky-cheesy baga. She’ll surprise you with invented text messages of cheesiness and humor, sobrang matatawa ka talaga! She’s guaranteed to be a sunshine-y presence in anyone’s day! You should consider yourself lucky if she’s your friend because she’s one of those few whom you could fully trust and count on! She has a very cheerful demeanor, so it’s kind of surprising to see her “I’ll fight for my friend side.” Her passion to make others happy is contagious, as well as her laugh and, well, cheesiness! Hehe!

So please join me in awarding this wonderful person and in greeting her and advanced happy birthday yey! ) I ♥ you, Pam!

Astroboy Awards – Award #2*

Again, much thanks to Oscar dela Hopia for the “official” picture hehe! Maaasahan talaga! ^-^ Okay, I have decided to give the second award to someone as hyper as I am hehe. That’s a very big clue na if you’re a Rusher lol )

The second award – the Tag Team Award goes to:

Specialist!

Kuya Joe as I fondly call him, is my closest Rusher friend. So close that most of the time we forget that we aren’t really siblings by blood! Hahaha. He’s the bunso in his family and I’m the panganay naman so swak! He wanted to have a younger sibling while I have always wanted to have an older sibling. When I was still working in Ortigas, our break times were spent hanging out at RX at least twice a week! Actually, even if I’m now working in Makati, a lot of our RX friends still tease us that RX is where we live or work hahaha =)

So, why the Tag Team Award? Kasi he’s usually my partner in winning RX promos. We exchange promo information, share answers and help each other out during Monster Movie Premiere invites dissemination LOL =D One time, I think it was for the Slumdog Millionaire MMP, Christi was looking for caller #10. Neither of us was the right number caller but 8 out of the 10 calls were from us! HAHAHA! And since I work in Makati na, Kuya Joe has been claiming my recent prizes or tickets hehe!

I could rave on and on about how great my Kuya Joe is, but I have to go na. Hahaha. Tsaka baka umiyak pa ako o siya. lol! =))

Astroboy Awards – Award #1

I remember reading a story in the Chicken Soup for The Soul At Work about recognizing people’s efforts. The author decided to give out a stray penny to a co-employee, simply for being a great person (yata haha). Anyways, the author was surprised that the recipient of the penny actually kept the penny and even displayed it on his office desk. Soon, some of their other co-employees were waiting to recieve “Penny Awards” as well. So the author decided to randomly dish out Awards to any co-employee who deserves recognition, even for the simplest things like being on time, making great coffee, wearing a nice attire, etc.

Anyways, that story inspired me to do this. Being recognized in any way can inspire or motivate people to their best in anything. So I’ll be dishing out random awards to people whom I think deserve to be recognized hehe. Or puwede ring an action, an event, a product, etc. which I would like to share with you.

The first award – the Karir Award – goes to…

OSCAR DELA HOPIA!

Do I need to introduce this guy pa ba?! Haha! Anyways for all of you who do not know him (and I’m guessing there’s only a few of you out there), Oscar dela Hopia is the incomparable (o ha o ha!) innocent pervert of The Morning Rush (that’s on RX 93.1!). He is my Golden Pamangkin in the Familia Umaga y Arriba Forumera (you can check out The Morning Rush Forum to get to know more about that awesome family). So why give him this award?

Last Monday kasi, we were text bonding and I realized how much this guy makes “karir” everything he needs to do – making really cool wallpapers, moderating posts, sending Top Ten entries, studying Nihongo, listening to all other RX programs and a lot more. Plus, even if we have different bets on American Idol, he still made this awesome signature for me, depicting my ardent love for Adam Lambert. Karir di ba?! Such a sweet guy. =)

So there. One award down. Hopefully, many more to go hehe!
