2019 Project 365, Day 212: What Would You Do?

Photo #212: July 31

Situation: Haru is insisting Lorenzo to go swimming, but he doesn’t know how to swim, so he just wants to take photos on the beach. Haru was shocked.
Question: Imagine you’re Haru. What will you do next?

My adult students always say they’d still go swimming, and frankly, I would, too! 😅✌️ But my kids? They give such sweet answers!

Kid 1: Stay with Lorenzo. He’s my friend!
Kid 2: No swim! So he won’t alone.
Kid 3: Hmmm I will teach swimming! 🏊‍♂️

I really love the Young Learners program! 🥰#WeAreRareJob

Photo #211: July 30

13-yo kid, after our 3rd lesson: Do you teach tomorrow?
Me: Ah, yes.
K: Ah eto… tomorrow lesson.. ano.. 13 o’clock?
Me: Oh, do you want me to open a lesson tomorrow at 1 in the afternoon?
K: Yes! I learn English, but you talk Japanese. And fun!
Me: Just sukoshi (a little). But thank you, student-kun!
K: I like you. Mommy also. *mommy waves and shows me their cat, Mi-chan*

I have a new loyal kid (and parent)… my heart is full! 😻 #WeAreRareJob#ilovemyjob

2019 Project 365, Day 210: Japanese Chopsticks & Rests

Photo #210: July 29

Although I’ve been to Japan thrice, I always forget to buy chopsticks! So now I’m thrilled to have my own thanks to my cousin Hexel Hexel and cousin-in-law Chiharu-chan! They even included some adorable hashi oki or chopstick rests! Arigatou!

2019 Project 365, Day 209: Sayonara/Hajimemashite/Mata ne

Photo #209: July 28

Of sayonaras, hajimemashites, and mata nes: today I said goodbye to my cousin & cousin-in-law who’ll be moving to Japan soon, and I also met another Japanese family who’s interested in letting their kids study in the Philippines, thanks to Sachiko-san’s experiences, which she shares online. My cousin Hexel and Sachiko-san met via Grab: he drove her to her home, and the rest is history. I’m a little sad, but I know it’s a good decision especially for my hafu nephew, Kirito-kun and niece, Kazumi-chan (hoping for her safe delivery this December). In addition, that’s another reason for me to visit Japan again, in Yokohama! Ganbatte, Hexel and Chiharu-chan!

2019 Project 365, Day 208: Back To Reality

Photo #208: July 27

Bidding goodbye to vacations is always bittersweet. On one hand, it’s a bit sad to “go back to reality,” and on the other, we always manage to leave with happy memories. Until next anniversary celeb or vacation, whichever comes first lol. #9thInTheNorth

p.s. I feel like I’m about to get sick, though huhu Leo’s coughing naman. 😦

Handa na kami para sa buwan ng wika! #advancedmagisip (We are all set for August, Philippine language month.)

Seriously, we actually had fun learning a little more about Philippine history at Las Casas! Definitely going back because a day tour isn’t enough!
