2016 Project 365, Day 156: English Breakfast

Photo #156: June 4

One of the perks I get whenever my sister comes home: her cooking!!!! Here’s her version of English breakfast! I may have a decreased sense of hearing, but my senses of taste & smell are still intact and very pleased with this excellent dish! Thank you, Kate! :-*

2015 Project 365, Day 117: Breakfast Brothers

Photo #117: April 27

Breakfast food all day!!! I have been waiting for Breakfast Brothers along Lilac Street to open since forever! Chos, mga a few months lang. 😀 They have been on soft opening since April 19, and today, I found time to visit them. So far, their prices and serving sizes are pretty decent. I enjoyed my gourmet tuyo so much that I ordered an extra cup of garlic rice! I also tried their buko-lychee sherbet, and it was perfect: not too sweet & refreshingly light! I definitely recommend this place to anyone who plans to explore Lilac Street! 🙂 They are open from 7 am to 11 pm, but these operating hours may still change.

Eggs For Breakfast Cafe

It is said that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. For some, it is the most appetizing meal of the day that eating breakfast food for lunch or dinner is ideal. I’m sure most of us have had days when we’re just too lazy to cook and resort to fast food deliveries. However, if you’re from Marikina or Antipolo, taking a relatively short drive to Eggs for Breakfast is worth it! The cafe is nice and cozy, and is in the heart of a lovely events place, which made me and my boyfriend think of Tagaytay. You can have photo ops before ordering, while waiting for your orders, or after eating! There are a lot of Instagram-worthy shots to take, aside from their food.

I wanted to take a picture here, but I felt that I wasn’t wearing something nice enough! Haha! Arte much?! 😀

Ahhh, their FOOD! Breakfast fare in massive plates? Bring them on! I’ve seen similar dishes in other restaurants, but they’re often located in places that are relatively far from where I live like Eastwood and BGC, plus they are a bit pricier. For our brunch yesterday, we shared the following:

IMG_0902

Eggs Benedict

Eggs Benedict (P285) – “2 slices of smoked back bacon and poached eggs on top of 2 toasted English muffins glazed with our freshly-made hollandaise sauce, served with side salad with vinaigrette.” Leo didn’t like the vinaigrette much, but I did! Hehe! The eggs were perfectly poached, and there’s just something inherently beautiful about breaking the egg and releasing its golden yolk! 😀

IMG_0903

Deconstructed Hash Brown

Deconstructed Hash Brown (P110) – “A pan of roasted potatoes with bacon lardons, bell peppers, onions, herbs, and spices, and topped with 2 cracked eggs.” Think of sizzling sisig topped with an egg, but replace the sisig with potatoes and add another egg. The potatoes were the stars for me as they were seasoned just right and I totally did not expect a hash brown to look like that!

One Pan Breakfast

One Pan Breakfast (P470) – “Our own version of the classic Full English Breakfast: an entire platter that consists of 2 sausages (Hungarian and Shublig), 2 thick cut honey cured bacon, baked beans, tomatoes, roasted potatoes, shitake mushrooms, and 2 eggs.” If you have a big appetite, then you should order this!!! It’s good for sharing, too! And of course, it has BACON!!! Bacon makes anything great! 😀

Aside from picture taking, you can also read magazines while waiting for your food. Love, love, love, indeed! ❤

Eggs For Breakfast Cafe’s complete address is Velada Estate, #21 Don Juan Street Villa Cecilia Subdivision Sumulong Highway, Barangay Mambugan Lower Antipolo, Antipolo, Rizal. From Marcos Highway, turn right at the first crossroads after SM Masinag. Go straight and watch out for Villa Cecilia Subdivision on your right. Velada Estate is just a minute or less away from the entrance of the subdivision! Turn right when you see the big entrance of the Estate (don’t go inside) because you’ll find the parking lot on that side. The cafe is open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. every day (currently, they have a short break at 3-4 p.m., so better avoid that time).

So what are you having for breakfast today? Fast food or real food?
