2015 Project 365, Day 123: Breakfast Brothers + Hot Box Noodle Bar

Photo #123: May 3

Started the day right by having breakfast at Breakfast Brothers along Lilac Street. Ended the day with an equally foodgasmic dinner at Hot Box Noodle Bar along J.P. Rizal. Both are restaurants I would recommend #‎WhenInMarikina‬!

Sweet Bliss Resto/Café

Last week, I discovered another Marikina restaurant through Facebook: Sweet Bliss Resto/Café. They are quite active on their page, so I went on a liking spree! Their photos were enough to make my mouth water and warrant a visit, so last Friday, I went there with one of my closest friends, Angel. We were both hungry, so we didn’t opt for any starters, and went straight for the main meals. Before you continue reading, I would like to apologize for the low-quality photos, as I forgot to bring my camera! A mortal sin for any foodie, I know! Ah well. I’ll take better pictures during my next visit, for sure! 🙂

Angel ordered the baby back ribs rice meal. At P190, you get 2 pieces of ribs, rice, and buttered corn & carrots. We thought it was a fair deal. The ribs taste good, but a little improvement on the presentation could still be done.

I had my eyes on the cheesesteak sandwich even before we went there, so that’s what I ordered! It’s such a steal at P150! There was a generous amount of slightly spicy and very cheesy beef strips, which weren’t tough to chew! I would prefer a softer type of bread, though, plus more fries, please! Haha! Ang bitin nung fries eh! They were really good, too! 😀 I loved the overall presentation as well; it was like an open-faced sandwich. 🙂

Since we were really hungry, Angel and I also shared an order of roasted vegetable linguine, which tasted divine! It was the most flavorful among the dishes we ordered and the most colorful, too! All of their pastas are worth P160 per order, so it’s relatively okay. Wish each order had more pasta, but since this is a café, I guess the serving size & price are already acceptable compared to other food places.

For dessert, we ordered a slice of apple pie à la mode. If you think a certain fast food chain’s apple pie is too small for you, then you should try this homemade creation from Sweet Bliss! It’s HUGE! 😀 They have other sweet treats as well, and next time, I plan to try their carrot cake or blueberry cheesecake! 😀

Sweet Bliss is located along Gil Fernando Avenue in Marikina. If you’re coming from Marcos Highway, it is on your right side, at the Shell Station in front of Rapidé (Redwood Street). It’s a good place to chill as they also have a variety of cool drinks, plus they have WiFi! 😀

P.S. Sweet Bliss also sells some paintings, and they look really nice. Moreover, you can also purchase assorted flavored salts and local bottled delicacies. Too bad, I wasn’t able to take pictures of the latter products, but here’s a picture of me and Angel with some of the paintings, taken with her phone’s camera:

Oh, here’s one more, this time from my iPad mini:
