2020 Project 366, Day 343: Da Hangry Chef

Believe it or not, I used Grab Food for the first time today! Ahhh so convenient!!! Anyway, since I was already starving, I tried a nearby resto, and I wasn’t disappointed. Marikina peeps, this is from Da Hangry Chef, located along Bayan-Bayanan Avenue. Their bacon cheese bombs are also, well, the bomb! 🤤

2020 Project 366, Day 253: The Hungry Chef

Photo #253: September 9

The Hungry Chef offers a wide variety of filling sandwiches, and they go well with these drinks, especially the spicy mango with nata de coco and basil seeds! I tried their cheese steak sub and salmon cream cheese bagel; both are quite filling! 🤤 Location: Marikina.

Photo #24: January 24

Found a 3-week old diner by accident, and their takoyaki is soooo oishii! Check out Tokyo Style – Marikina! They also have ramen and rice meals. They are located at Purple Street, Concepcion Dos, Marikina.

p.s. mapanlinang slight, though: I was expecting a whole baby octopus haha pero more of tentacles lang, but still good!!! Or baka pala sa sobrang sarap, di ko napansin kung buo ba haha emshere! 😋🐙

2019 Project 365 Day 341: Gyuniku Ramen

Photo #341: December 7

Ran some errands today, and managed to drop by Gōrudo RAMEN for this creamy, savory gyuniku ramen. Of course, hindi puwedeng walang gyoza! #keysieats #WhenInMarikina

2019 Project 365, Day 328: Hunchos Marikina

Photo #328: November 24

Haven’t seen each other in 2 weeks! Thank you for feeding me today, hehe! Tried Hunchos along Lilac, and their food’s pretty good, including the serving sizes. They also have more menu options, and possibly better tasting dishes than Burrito Brothers.

Happy 112th monthsary to us, btw.

2019 Project 365, Day 312: Gōrudo Ramen Marikina

Photo #312: November 8

After the closure of some of my favorite Marikina restaurants, it was difficult for me to find nearby go-to places to eat. Today, however, I found a new gem: Gōrudo RAMEN. I tried their chashumen, gyoza, yakitori, and butabara, and I enjoyed EVERYTHING! I love the ambiance, too, especially their lanterns, which were bought in Japan. Apparently, one of the owners, Greg, loves ramen so much, so he and his wife decided to start their own resto. I can’t wait to go back to try the other ramen variants, as well as their donburi selections! Visit them at Bent II along Lilac – where Mandi’s was! (huhu, kakamiss din MGG!)

2019 Project 365, Day 222: Mommylyn’s Kitchenette Marikina

Photo #222: August 10

Had a productive day as I taught for a few hours, did some chores, took a nap, studied something new for work, entertained a potential car buyer, and bought some groceries. On the way home from the supermarket, I came across Mommylyn’s Kitchenette along Gen. Ordoñez St. (in front of San Ramon Hospital). According to the owner, they’ve been open for almost 3 months now, and their menu changes almost every day. They have an air-conditioned dining area, and it’s pretty comfy and homey! For tonight, I tried their beef caldereta and chicken adobo, and I’ll definitely come back for more! Hooray for foodie gems like these in Marikina! 😍😋🤤

2019 Project 365, Day 216: Zab’s Takoyaki Marikina

Photo #216: August 4

Before going to Japan for the first time last year, my favorite Japanese food was sashimi. I still like that, but after trying Gindaco’s #takoyaki and making our own #okonomiyaki in Japan, they topped my list, along with Nagasaki’s kakuni manju (steamed pork bun). I haven’t been to Osaka, but that is definitely one of the places I plan to visit in the future because people there are known to be jolly, plus their takoyaki & okonomiyaki are said to be the best. For now, though, ZAB’S food is enough to satisfy my cravings! Tastes like Japan!
